Barry E. Roper, M.D. is a Board Certified ophthalmologist (American Board of Ophthalmology) specializing in small incision cataract surgery with intraocular lens implantation, medical and surgical management of glaucoma, and diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the eye. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He serves as a board member on the Richmond Eye and Ear Hospital Foundation, the Richmond Eye and Ear Healthcare Alliance, the Richmond Academy of Medicine’s Bioterrorism Task Force. He is the Medical Society of Virginia’s representative to Anthem’s Medical Advisory Panel and a member of the Physician Advisory Board for the Lupus Foundation of Virginia. Dr. Roper is also a life member of both the National Eagle Scout Association and Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity.

Dr. Alan Wagner is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in vitreoretinal surgery and founder of the Retina and Vitreous Center, now Wagner Macula and Retina Center. He is a graduate of the Medical Society of Virginia’s Claude Moore Leadership Institute and the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Leadership Development Program, and was a member of the Civic Leadership Institute of Hampton Roads. Other community service endeavors include service with Jewish Healthcare International (past president), the Diabetes Institutes Foundation, National Conference of Christians and Jews, AIDS Network, and the United Way. His involvement includes membership in AF&AM, Khedive Shrine and leadership positions with the Jewish Community Center of Tidewater, United Jewish Federation of Tidewater, and the Beth El Synagogue. Dr. Cooper is a board certified ophthalmologist in private practice in Richmond, VA. His professional affiliations include: Fellow, American Academy of Ophthalmology; Fellow, American College of Surgeons, Richmond Academy of Medicine, the Medical Society of Virginia, the Virginia Society of Eye Physicians & Surgeons, the Richmond Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat Society and the Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmologists. He is also the founder and owner of Cooper’s Vineyards in Louisa, VA. Dr. Cooper’s wines have been recognized with a variety of state and national awards.

Dr. Scott specializes in oculoplastics in private practice in Fairfax, Virginia. Dr. Scott is currently a Fellow and the AAO Councilor for the Virginia Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. He is a graduate of the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Leadership Development Program. Dr. Scott is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, International Society of Cosmetic Laser Surgeons, the Medical Society of Virginia, the Northern Virginia Academy of Ophthalmology and the Medical Society of Northern Virginia.

Kenneth M. Karlin, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist, and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has been certified in excimer laser surgery since 1996, the first year that the FDA approved laser refractive surgery in the U.S. He is past president of the Northern Virginia Academy of Ophthalmology and the Virginia Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. He has been cited seven times in the Washingtonian Best Doctors List, seven times in the Best Doctors List, and three times in the Check Book magazine's Outstanding Physician Specialist list. He has served the Commonwealth of Virginia as a member of the Board for Opticians under Governors Gilmore and Allen. He received the Distinguished Service Award in 2007 from the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Presidential Award in 2008 from the Virginia Society of Eye Physicians & Surgeons.

Dr. Leaderman is an ophthalmologist in private practice in Norfolk, VA. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a past president of the DePaul Hospital Medical Staff in Norfolk, and the Virginia Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. He has also served as a councilor to the American Academy of Ophthalmology. His positions at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) include Medical Director of the Ophthalmic Technicians Program and Vice Chairman and Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology. He is currently Senior Councilor to the Virginia Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.

Dr. Robinson is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and Chief of Ophthalmology at the Hampton Veterans Administration Medical Center. She is a past president of the Virginia Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons and Secretary-Treasurer of the Association of Veterans’ Affairs Ophthalmologists. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and graduate of the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Leadership Development Program. Other affiliations include the American Medical Association, the Medical Society of Virginia, the National Association of Veterans Affairs Physicians and Dentists, Tidewater Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology Society, and the Roman Barnes Ophthalmology Society. Dr. Robinson also serves as Associate Residency Program Director for Eastern Virginia Medical School.

A West Point graduate, Dr. Morton is a board certified ophthalmologist and Diplomate with the American Board of Ophthalmology. He practices with Charlottesville Eye Associates. John Thomas Edmonds, Jr. is a board certified ophthalmologist in private practice with Tidewater Eye Centers in Portsmouth, VA. He is a member of the Medical Society of Virginia, Virginia Society of Eye Physicians & Surgeons, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He has served on the boards of the Virginia Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, Laser Optic Center, Tidewater Eye Centers, and Harbourview Surgery Center.

Anthony J. Viti, MD is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in comprehensive ophthalmology. He is in private practice with Eye Center of the Shenandoah Valley in Winchester, VA. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Virginia Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. He is also a member of the Northern Virginia Academy of Ophthalmology and the Medical Society of Virginia. He also volunteers at the Blue Ridge Wildlife Center.

William H. Bearden, III, M.D.  is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and specializes in plastic and reconstructive eye surgery at Virginia Eye Institute. Dr. Bearden completed his specialty Fellowship in Salt Lake City, Utah and his ophthalmology Residency at the Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital at the University of Alabama. Dr. Bearden is an Alpha Omega Alpha graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine. This was followed by an Internship at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia, as well as an Externship in Vienna, Austria. A native of Alabama, Dr. Bearden completed his undergraduate studies as a Presidential Scholar at the University of Alabama. He is a Member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Bearden is a Fellow and Legislative Chairperson for the Virginia Society of Ophthalmology.

Rachna D. Patel, MD is a cornea and refractive specialist with Augusta Eye Associates in Fishersville, VA. She received her medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and was Chief Resident at the University of Virginia, Department of Ophthalmology. She also completed a fellowship under Marguerite McDonald, MD at Tulane University. Dr. Patel has several research projects, presentations, and publications to her credit as well.

Alan C. Egge, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist and pediatrician in private practice with Dominion Eye Care in Northern, Virginia. He specializes in the surgical treatment of cataracts, glaucoma, strabismus, as well as laser vision correction (LASIK). Washingtonian Magazine has recognized Dr. Egge as one of the area’s top doctors in the field of ophthalmology.
